How to buy and claim items in BOSON

1. Jump into Portal

Portal is a virtual lifestyle and cultural playground located in Decentraland. In Portal you can attend events, complete quests, play games and buy exclusive products from brands and creators.

2. Commit

To buy a product you have to first commit to the seller's offer in Decentraland. In this step the buyer deposit & item price will be taken from your wallet and moved to Boson Protocol escrow. You may be asked to approve the spending of tokens if the offer is priced in DAI or BOSON. After completing this step you will hold an NFT Voucher for the physical item in your wallet.

3. Claim

To redeem your NFT for the physical product visit the Portal claim website (https://app.bosonportal.io), where you can claim the physical item. Once you’ve filled in your delivery information and sent the claim transaction, the physical item will be shipped to you. After 7 days the buyer deposit will be transferred back to your wallet.

Buyer Reward

The Boson Buyer Rewards program is a marketplace liquidity mining program to incentivise demand for items that are sold in Portal. Users can earn 100 $BOSON by claiming an item on the Portal claim website.

Revoke

If you change your mind about the item you committed to, you can still revoke your commitment to exchange. By revoking, you will cancel your commitment to exchange, resulting in the return of the item price amount to your wallet. You will lose your deposit. The NFT Voucher will change its state. This means it will no longer be redeemable for the physical item.

Expiration

Every NFT Voucher has an expiration date set by the seller at the offer stage. When the expiration date passes and the voucher has not been Claimed or Revoked, the NFT Voucher automatically expires. This will result in the return of the item price amount to your wallet and the loss of your deposit. When you commit to an offer, make sure that the expiration date gives you enough time to claim the item on the Portal claim website  (https://app.bosonportal.io).

Contact the Seller

If you experience problems with your purchase, you can directly contact the seller via the chat feature on the Portal claim website (https://app.bosonportal.io). Select the item in question and the chat option will be available on the details page via the “Contact Seller” button.

Buyer & Seller deposit

The buyer and seller deposits are used to hold both parties accountable to follow through with their commitment to exchange on-chain value for a physical item. Should either buyer or seller step back from their commitment, or break it, then their deposit will be transferred to the other party. In the happy path, the return of the deposits can take up to 14 days after the buyer claimed the item.

How do I redeem my voucher for the Physical Item?
+

If you are in possession of a Boson Protocol NFT Voucher then visit our Boson Portal website on app.bosonportal.io to add your shipping address, claim the item and complete the transaction.

I have lost access to my NFT Voucher. How do I claim my item?
+

As with any such transaction, it is your responsibility to ensure you have your wallet private key backed up and can access your NFT Voucher. If you have lost the access to your voucher, you cannot proceed with the transaction and the voucher will not be retrievable.

Can I list Boson NFT Vouchers on Opensea?

NFT Vouchers are OpenSea compatible out of the box, and you should be able to list your NFT Voucher for sale. The NFT must be Committed and not yet Claimed / Revoked / Expired.

Can I transfer the NFT Vouchers?

NFT Vouchers can be transferred as long as they are in the Committed state and not yet Claimed, Revoked or Expired.

Why didn’t I get my deposit back?

The buyer deposit will be held in escrow for another 14 days after you claimed or revoked the voucher, or the voucher expired. If you are still waiting for your deposit to be returned then please contact us on support@bosonportal.io

How long does it take to get my deposit back?

The return of deposits will happen after 14 days from the time of claim.

Which network do I need to be on?
+

In order to use Boson Portal you need to be connected to Ethereum Mainnet.

Why are transaction costs so high?
+

Ethereum gas prices are quite high at the moment, resulting in high transaction costs for users. We are rewarding every successful claim of an NFT Voucher in Portal with $BOSON tokens to make up for transaction costs.

Which wallets are supported?

Boson Portal supports MetaMask and Fortmatic wallets.

What is conditional commit?
+

Conditional commit allows a seller to make an exclusive offer based on the ownership of an NFT. For Portal this enables the unlocking of a better price for an item, by owning a quest NFT.

Why can’t I buy an item?

Please make sure that you’re connected to the right network, and have the necessary funds in your wallet, in the correct currency.

I can’t see my Buyer Reward.

The reward will be transferred to you within 48 hours after you claim.

I have completed a quest in a brand’s space but I cannot buy an item at its lower price, why is this?

Upon quest completion you will receive a non-transferable ERC1155 NFT. You must have received this NFT in order to be able to proceed to buy an item at its lower listing price (subject to availability).

If the transfer of the NFT is in progress, you will see a message on the pop-up saying that you need to wait a few minutes before you can commit to the item at the lower price.

If you have completed a quest and not received the non-transferable ERC1155 NFT in your wallet, please wait a few minutes and try again. If the issue persists after 30 minutes, please contact our support team who will be happy to help.

Will I need to undergo a KYC check?

We are required to conduct a KYC (‘Know Your Customer’) check for purchases over $10,000. In this event we will be in contact by email or by the seller chat to carry out the check.

How long does it take to receive my item?

Products that are ready to ship will be processed within 2 weeks from receiving your order.   For custom made products,  the manufacturing lead times vary,  which can be found on the product detail page.

All orders are delivered within 2-3 business days from the date of dispatch.

How do I contact the seller of an item if I have a problem?

Once you have claimed an item in the Boson Portal website you will be able to contact the seller using the chat tool. To find the chat, click on your claimed item from the ‘My Items’ page then choose ‘Contact Seller’.

When contacting a seller please be aware that sellers may not be able to answer immediately. The seller will respond to you within 48 hours during business days.

My item has not arrived: what do I do now?

If your item has not arrived then please contact the seller of your item by visiting the Boson Portal claim website at app.bosonportal.io - Connect your wallet and choose your claimed item ‘My Items’ page. Choose ‘Contact Seller’ to write a message to the seller of the item. 

When contacting a seller please be aware that sellers may not be able to answer immediately. The seller will respond to you within 48 hours during business days.

Can I exchange my item?

Currently,  items purchased on Boson Portal are not eligible for exchanges but eligible for returns*. Please see our Terms of Sale for more information about returns and exchanges.

How do I return a product?

Why do you need my personal information?

Personal information is submitted to the seller to handle shipping of the item. Our shipping partner DHL will want to contact you to arrange the best days and time for delivery.
